Do I need prior experience to take your courses?
No prior experience is required for Extension Essentials. However, having a background in hairstyling or salon work is helpful. For advanced courses like Mesh Integration and Contrast Scalp®, we recommend that you already have some experience with extensions or color services to get the most out of training.
What’s included in the training cost?
Each training includes:
- Hands-on instruction and theory
- A professional training kit (tools, mannequins, adhesives, and system samples depending on the course)
- A certificate of completion
- Lifetime access to our student support group and discounts on professional hair purchasing
Will I receive a certification?
Yes, upon completion, you’ll receive a Hair Contrast Co. Certification specific to the method you’ve trained in (Mesh Integration, Extension Essentials, or Contrast Scalp®). This certification allows you to market and offer these services as a trained professional.
Do you offer payment plans or financing?
Yes. We partner with Cherry Financing, which allows you to spread your payments out over time with flexible, no-APR options. We also require only a deposit to secure your spot, with the balance due before training.
How soon can I start offering these services?
Most stylists begin offering services immediately after completing training. Our goal is to equip you with not just technical skills but also pricing strategies, marketing guidance, and client management so you feel confident right away.
Where are trainings held?
Trainings are hosted in our Katy, TX studio (I-10/1463) and select partner salons. We also offer travel training for salons interested in hosting a group class.
Will I learn business and marketing strategies too?
Absolutely. Beyond technical skills, we cover client consultation, pricing, upselling, and marketing strategies to help you build a profitable service menu. We also provide branded social media templates you can use to launch your services.
How big are the class sizes?
We intentionally keep classes small to ensure one-on-one attention. This allows every student hands-on practice time and personal guidance throughout training.
Can I get ongoing support after training?
Yes! All students get lifetime access to Hair Contrast Co.’s support group, where you can ask questions, get troubleshooting help, and connect with other certified stylists.
Are there any perks for affiliating with your nonprofit, The ReCrown Initiative?
Yes. Stylists who affiliate with our nonprofit gain access to additional discounts on hair purchasing and the opportunity to serve clients through our community programs. It’s a way to grow your business while giving back. Affiliation requests can be made by inquiry. Discounts to classes do apply when you affiliate.
